Eligibility
Language requirements
English is the working language for most of our courses, so you'll need to be fluent in English, both read and written, in order to get a degree in Academia Thules. In an increasing number of courses, however, the working language is Latin, and a few courses are also offered in third languages, such as Spanish for instance.
Dedication requirements
You also need to be able to dedicate enough hours per course for studying. As a rule of thumb one study credit requires about 26 hours of work; this of course varies between individuals, but it is the basis on which courses have been designed. So please make sure that you'll have the time and energy to carry on courses you have started.
Nationality, gender and age requirements
We do not pose any restrictions based on nationality, gender, or age, except that we expect students to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years old, we need to have written permission (email is not sufficient) from your parents.
Previous studies
We do not require any previous studies: our degree programmes are designed so that anyone can study them. That said, we remind you that at least superficial knowledge of Roman culture and history is helpful to get the most out of our courses, and thats why we have established and recommend all students to take our preliminary level courses.
Financial requirements
Since our courses are mostly free and done via electronic means there isn't any specific financial requirement. However please note that many of our courses require specific books and materials which may not be available at your local library, so you may have to purchase them to pursue your studies.
