Student admissions
Currently we have no limit to the number of new students admitted each year, but in the future we may impose such restrictions. However, we have some general restrictions for prospective students. Please, see for more information about eligibility.
In order to begin your studies in the Academia Thules you must first make some plans for your academic curriculum. Don't worry, you can change your plans later on, but the better you prepare yourself for studying, the more rewarding it will be.
The first decision to make is which degree, if any, you are aiming to obtain. If you are to pursue an academic degree, you'll need to think about the amount of work there is to do, although we do not insist on a time-frame in which a degree must be completed. If you are not doing a degree but want to take a single course, just skip the next paragraph.
After deciding the degree you want to pursue, you will have to decide, what your major subject will be. Different degrees require different amounts of work, which is measured in study credits. Each course you do will give you, once completed, a certain number of credits. In general, one credit is equivalent to about 26 hours of work by the student. You will need more credits for your major subject than for your secondary subjects. See detailed information about degrees and subjects here.
Once you have made informed decisions on your desired studies, you'll need to find out about the entry requirements, if any, for the subjects you want to study as major or secondary ones, or take a single course on. This information can be found in the Study Guide, where there is a list of all the courses that the Academia offers.
Now you have made the most important decisions and are ready to submit your student admission form. Once we have processed your admission (this will take from some days to some weeks), you'll be notified with an email which will also contain your log-in information for the Academia Course Management System (CMS).
Please note that you'll need to send the student admission form only once, at the beginning of your studies, not every time you register for a course. The actual course enrollments occur on the Academia Thules CMS. Once you have a user account there, you will be able to subscribe to any of the individual courses listed there that have no further entry requirements (like having taken a previous course of a lower level for the higher level courses). If you have previously done studies in Academia Thules, but don't have a user account for the Academia Thules CMS, then you'll also need to fill in and send the student admission form, since our former students cannot otherwise be added to our new Course Management System.
While waiting for your admission to be processed, you might want to explore the Study Guide in more detail and think about, what courses you would like to take first. Once you have your log-in information for the course-system, you can subscribe to those courses and start studying.
Lastly, please note that Academia Thules is not an accredited institution of learning, so our degrees and study credits are not a substitute for any "normal" university degrees or studies. However, we have set ourselves high standards and constantly develop our operations on all possible aspects to be on a par with accredited institutions of learning..
