Students
A Student is a person who is registerd in the Academia Thules Student Archives as such. Students are registrated by sending an admission form via Academia website. Academia Thules has the right to reject student from registering and when this happens the student can put an official complaint for Praescriptor Academiae Thules (Vice-CEO) who will decide the final outcome of the issue.
Student has to sign-in for every course he will be attending in Academia Thules. Sign-in to the courses is done in the Academia Thules CMS (Course Management System).
If there is a limit for the number of the students to each course, the students are accepted by order in which their application forms arrive. The students will be sent a confirmation that they are accepted to the course before the course starts and be given information about the course. In some courses there may be special requirements that student must fulfill before he can be accepted to the course.
The student can quit a course at any time he wishes by sending a notification to the Praeceptor (teacher) or Decanus Facultatis (dean of faculty) of the course.
Student archives Academia Thules may keep up an archive about its students and their scholary achievements. Various information is collected from students in order to facilitate this: contact information, which courses student has attended and when, and the grades he has got from the courses. All student data is handled according to the laws and regulations of Republic of Finland.
At any circumstance, contact information, excluded contact information that is needed for doing the course for teacher, of a student, will not be given to any other parts than the following: Praescriptor (Vice-CEO), Rector, the members of Officina Archivi (Archives Office) and the student himself.
The grades of a student will not be shared with any other than the following: the Praescriptor (Vice-CEO), the Rector, the members of Officina Archivi (Archives Office), the student himself and the Praeceptor (teacher) of a course which student is attending.
The grades can be anonymously collected for statistical analysis by the Concilium, Praescriptor (Vice-CEO) and the Rector.
No information about if a certain person has taken a certain course can be inquired from the Rector, if there isn't a very good case for the Rector to give out such information. The student in question must give his/her consent to such actions case by case. |
